Table of Contents
The tabs that are currently available in the Navigation Pane include Operations, Administration, MyFavorites, OneClicks, and Settings menus. Note: Key enhancements to ViewPoint Logistics have resulted in a new menu format as well as the consolidation, reorganization, and/or renaming of some functionality. For documentation relating to features that existed in versions prior to VL 13.010, see Legacy VL. Click to enlarge the image on the left to view an illustration of Navigation Pane components. These components are outlined in the sections that follow: |
Accordion Tabs
The Navigation Pane may include some or all of the following accordion tabs:
- If Operations is selected, ViewPoint Logistics will display menu items for the jobs and data required to perform various day-to-day business operations. Refer to Operations topics under the selected (WMS, TMS, or FMS) system.
- The Administration menu is used primarily for configuring and maintaining VL; i.e., setup parameters, master tables, purging routines, job streams and other more administrative tasks that are usually restricted to certain operators. Refer to Administration topics under the selected (WMS, TMS, or FMS) system
- MyFavorites lists Workflows (menus, wizards, etc) that have been created by the user from existing Operations, Administration, or OneClicks menu items. For more information, see MyFavorites.
- OneClicks displays any "one-click" menu items (shortcuts) that have been defined by the user to invoke selected action grids (with assigned Views). For more information, see OneClicks.
- Currently, the Settings tab is used to adjust the display of the VL interface and the Menu Page. It allows the user to define which accordion tab to open by default upon login. It also includes a button for turning on/off the display of Job Codes.
TreeView Menus
The menus under the Operations, Administration, and MyFavorites tabs are presented in TreeView format. Clicking on a menu item will either open the "parent" menu to show a "child" menu of items under it, or it will invoke a HighView (in a new tab) or a Job in a new window. Note that clicking on the button (instead of the menu label) will expand the tree view without changing anything in the Display Pane (on the right).
Expand All and Collapse All Buttons
As you use the TreeView menu to search for menu items or to invoke functionality, you may wish to change the appearance of all the menus at once. The Expand All button allows you to select the parent and child menus in the TreeView so that they are all open at once. The Collapse All button will close all the menus to display the top-most (parent) label.
